READ

get_glossary_term

One glossary term by id, with its definition, other names, related terms, source and review status.

Return one term of a project's glossary: the word, its definition as HTML, the other names it goes by, the ids of the terms it leans on, where the definition comes from and where it stands in its review. Read it when a story, a requirement or a brief uses a word you need the project's exact meaning of, or to follow a related_term_ids entry from another term.

A term of a project the token may not see, or a term that is not approved read through a guest token, is unknown rather than forbidden.

Requires ability

The token behind the MCP session must hold it, or the call is refused with TOKEN_MISSING_ABILITY.

The REST endpoint and this tool share one action, so validation, permissions and events are identical.

Annotations

Read-only

It reads and never changes anything.

Arguments

glossary_term_id*string

UUID of the glossary term to fetch.

How it fails

TOKEN_MISSING_ABILITY

token lacks glossary:view.
